United States Senator John Kennedy talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright about the current government shutdown and why he thinks Democrats in the both legislative houses "aren't negotiating in good faith."

Kennedy tells KEEL listeners that he sees no quick end to the shutdown. "I think it's going to take a while," he says, "I hope I'm wrong. I hope that some of my democratic friends put politics aside and negotiate in good faith. But, I don't see any indication from Senator Schumer and, more to the point, Mrs. (Nancy) Pelosi, that they're willing to do that."

"Mrs. Pelosi is running the show," Kennedy contends, "Chuck Schumer pretty much defers to her."
