Race also plays a part in the wage gap. For example, black women earn just 69 cents, while Latina women earn a mere 57 cents for every dollar earned by white, non-Hispanic men.

The report advocates for various measures to achieve pay equality:

NWLC highlights the importance of transparency in pay ranges, pointing out that greater transparency empowers job applicants to negotiate for a fair salary and make informed decisions about their careers.

The challenges faced by mothers in the workforce, who often encounter discrimination and lower pay compared to fathers, perpetuated by outdated perceptions of their competence.

Working Mothers in The Work Place

Mothers are frequently overlooked for promotions and leadership roles, as employers may make assumptions about their dedication and capability to balance work and family.

Biases like these not only undermine mothers' professional goals but also reinforce unfair gender stereotypes.

The report calls for action to address these issues including creating policies that promote pay equality, enhance work-life balance, and eliminate gender-based discrimination in the workplace.
