Louisiana Transparency Project Portal

Louisiana State Treasurer John Fleming and Baton Rouge Senator Rick Edmonds have recently unveiled "The Louisiana K-12 School Transparency Project Portal".

Senator Rick Edmonds tells louisianaradionetwork.com that Transparency Portal “has every budget, every expenditure. Whether it’s salary or whether it’s textbooks."

The portal has budgets for roughly 119 Louisiana public schools including charter schools.

The Transparency Portal also includes information on contracts, salaries, and quarterly reports from Louisiana's schools.

The portal also serves as a way for parents to learn of a school's financial integrity, helping them to make more informed decisions when it come to school of choice.

Law makers stress that this sort of transparency is crucial for efficiency in the Louisiana public school system, and will help to provide a better educational environment for Louisiana students and teachers.
