Does anyone else remember the absolute chaos and wonder of Sci-Port’s Bug Bazaar? If you were there, you know it was a total staple. If you’ve never heard of it, don't worry it is officially coming back to Shreveport in a massive way on April 11, 2026.

This was such a treasured community event, and after a long hiatus, it’s making a grand, creepy-crawly comeback that we are beyond thrilled about.

Why April 11th, you ask? The timing actually gives us chills. The very last Bug Bazaar was held on April 11, 2016. Coming back on the exact same date ten years later is just special. It’s like it was meant to be!

Get Ready to Slither and Shine

Prepare to crawl, wiggle, and explore your way into some serious hands-on fun. We’re talking ladybug releases, printmaking, fossil digging, and so much more. It’s the perfect way to get the kids (and, let’s be real, ourselves) excited about the tiny critters that make our ecosystem work.

A Legendary Guest

To celebrate this ten-year return, a world-famous bug lover is heading straight to Shreveport. Coyote Peterson is joining us! If you aren't familiar with his show Brave Wilderness, you have some catching up to do. This is the man who literally seeks out the most intense critters on Earth to test his limits.

We’re talking about the guy who famously crowned the Executioner Wasp as the "new king of sting," even over the legendary Bullet Ant. He’s braved searing pain and rapid swelling all in the name of education—and now he’s bringing that adventurous spirit to the Riverfront.
