Shreveport Man Arrested for Multiple Catalytic Converter Thefts
Shreveport Police Detectives launched an investigation into multiple catalytic converter thefts reported at businesses along the Greenwood Road corridor.
Reports to SPD indicated that three catalytic converters were stolen from vehicles at a local towing business. During the investigation, SPD identified a suspect believed to be responsible based on footage and investigative leads.
Shortly after those initial reports were made, a second business in the same area reported eight catalytic converters stolen from vehicles on their property. Footage from that location showed a suspect wearing the same clothing as the man seen in the earlier incident.
Patrol Officers were able to apprehend Deion Dominque Durden after he was found committing another catalytic converter theft. He was taken into custody without incident and taken to Shreveport City Jail for questioning.
Following an interview, Durden admitted to the thefts, including incidents that happened earlier this month. Investigators believe he is responsible for several catalytic converter thefts over several days.
Durden has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail on charges of:
· Theft of Catalytic Converter (11 counts)
· Simple Burglary
· Unauthorized Entry to a Business
· Criminal Trespass
· Possession of Burglary Tools
· Resisting an Officer
From SPD:
"This arrest reflects the continued efforts of the Shreveport Police Department to address property crimes and hold repeat offenders accountable.
