It was in April of 2017 when pro angler John Murray topped the field of Elite anglers with a four day total weight of 77 pounds, 10 ounces to win.

However, many anglers believe that when the Gamakatsu Elite hits Toledo Bend next week, February 22-25, it would be a disappointment if it doesn't take over 100 pounds to win.

Gleason Feels There Should Be Several Bass Over 10 Pounds Caught

Speaking to Bassmaster, Louisiana pro Darold Gleason, who's also a Toledo Bend guide and Tackle Warehouse Bassmaster Elite Qualifier, said this is the perfect time of year for anglers to catch giant bass and record-setting bags at Toledo Bend.  “I’d be more surprised if they didn’t break 100 pounds than if they did,” said Gleason.

Gleason continued to gush about the possibilities at Toledo Bend next week, "The fishery is just too good. This time of the year, our fish weigh more and are bigger than they will be all year. They are full pre-spawn. I personally think it will happen if they get the right weather conditions. There should be several bass over 10 pounds.”
