Parr tells KEEL listeners that despite the increasing population and demand on resources, the number of people around the globe living in poverty has decreased dramatically and the chief reason, he says, is cheap and efficient sources of energy.

"The more people you can get (cheap energy) to, the better off their lives are, the better off the world is," Parr says.
