Is This Grammy Award Winning Rocker Hanging Out In Shreveport?
So Grammy Award winner Jack White just played the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, Platinum selling rocker Kenny Wayne Shepherd still hangs out in his hometown, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member James Burton is always in Shreveport. But the person being spotted around town isn't any of those three.
The Grammy Award winner being rumored to be hanging out in the 318 is the lead singer of The Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan.
He's not only hanging out, he's apparently contributing to the local Shreveport economy too. Buying some quality vinyl from a local record shop, according to their social media page.
The rumors are that Corgan and his band are rehearsing in Shreveport for their upcoming tour. The next Smashing Pumpkins upcoming tour is call the Spirits on Fire Tour, and features Janes Addiction. The tour is set to start this weekend in Dallas, before heading to Houston, then Austin, and east to Florida.
It's not uncommon for Shreveport to have legendary musicians hanging around, its actually part of the city's history. But what is surprising is for one to be hanging out under the radar, and shopping for local music shops unannounced. That's the cool part of this story, the fact he just fits in, and chills.
