Insurance Commissioner Donelan Talks Disaster Relief for Ark-La-Tex [VIDEO]

Visiting northwest Louisiana as part of a "hurricane season" statewide tour, Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelan talked about Red River flood damage and insurance company response.

During his in-studio visit with Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty, Donelan discussed, among other topics, extending the length of time policy holders have to file flood related claims:

"There is a proof of claim requirement in a flood policy. The flood policy, all over America, has a 60 day proof of claim requirement. I've asked director Craig Fugate - the head of FEMA - to extend it to the victims of this Red River flooding."
