Stacy Brown, President of the Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the announcement that Shreveport will host both the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants in 2018.

Brown tells KEEL listeners that the upcoming pageants are a great opportunity to showcase the Shreveport-Bossier area, not only to people attending the events in-person, but also to a worldwide television audience via the Fox network.

Brown says that it was the original intent of organizers to keep the pageant in Las Vegas, but decided to make the move back to the ArkLaTex because of the great job Shreveport did in putting on the pageants a number of years ago.

Brown also credits Shreveport Mudbugs owner Tommy Scott and Scott Muscutt in landing the pageants at George's Pond, saying that "Scott Muscutt was there every step of the way, showing (organizers) every inch of the Hirsch and its capabilities."

The Miss USA Pageant will be at George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum on Monday, May 21. For more details about the show, JUST CLICK HERE!
