With the recent cyber-attack that breached the Louisiana State Office of Motor Vehicles releasing private information of millions of Louisiana drivers, online security has once again been brought to the forefront. Not that we needed any new painful reminders.

According to a report from WAFB in Baton Rouge:

There is no indication at this time that cyber attackers who breached MOVEit have sold, used, shared or released the OMV data obtained from the MOVEit attack. The cyber attackers have not contacted state government. But all Louisianans should take immediate steps to safeguard their identity. 

Identity theft scammers are becoming more and more sophisticated every day.  It seems there are countless ways scammers can now access your personal information. And one of the ways is to get to you through your actual tech device.

We used to access the internet just through our personal computers, but today, there are multiple avenues through which we get online.  Laptops continue to get smaller and more powerful, tablets like the Apple iPad, Microsoft Surface, and Samsung Galaxy are used more and more.  And you may be reading this very article on the most popular way, through your cellphone.

The self-proclaimed "Digital Goddess" Kim Komando recently released a list of some of the "Worst for Privacy" devices people are using, that might be allowing hackers easier access to their personal information.

Using Mozilla's "Privacy Not Included" buyer's guide, Komando recommends checking out their Annual Consumer Creep-O-Meter to see how your device fares.  It uses a scale of 1-100, with 100 being the worst.
