Wounded Bossier Officer Is Home – How to Help Victims of Shooting
The families of the victims of the tragic shooting in Bossier City this week need help from our community. GoFundMe accounts have been set up for each of the victims of this tragedy.
Two people were killed in this violent shooting. They are 47-year-old Joshua Ryan Calk who was a customer in the store and store clerk Jairiah Hamilton. Bossier City Police officer Ken Gallon was also wounded. He was shot four times during the armed robbery and double murder.
Bossier police did catch the suspect, 50-year-old Cortrell Burks at a nearby hotel. He faces a long list of charges today.
The GoFundMe account for Jairiah Hamilton says he lived in a small mobile home with his mother in Bossier City. He worked at the Valero during the day and the Wendy’s nearby at night to help his mom. You can click here to help the Hamilton family.
“As you can imagine there are so many unplanned expenses. Any donation would be appreciated,” the GoFundMe stated.
There is also an account set up for Joshua Calk. His family was apparently in the middle of moving when he was gunned down at the convenience store. The family is raising money to cover funeral expenses and moving costs. Click here to see how to help the Calk family.
There is also a fund set up to help pay the medical expenses and other costs for Bossier City Police Officer Kenny Gallon. He was shot 4 times during this incident. Click on this link to help the Gallon family.
The fundraising site says Gallon's wife "will have to be off to help take care of him and their children. He’s a great family man and provides like a father and husband should but this event will keep him down for awhile so any money we can raise will help out with any thing that they need.”
Gallon was struck several times during the exchange of gunfire with Burks.
