UPDATE (6:40pm 5/2/23): Bossier City officials have released a statement on today's shooting, updating the number of those who died. Here's what they said tonight:

"At approximately 10:30 a.m. the BCPD responded to a call of “shots fired” at the Valero station at 3820 Industrial Drive. Upon arrival at the scene the officers were fired upon and one was shot multiple times and transported to Ochsner L.S.U. Shreveport E/R in critical condition. We are glad to report that the officer is now listed in stable condition. In addition to shooting the police officer, the suspect shot three others two of which were pronounced dead at the scene. The third remains in critical condition at the time of this release.  The suspect was arrested and is now in custody."

ORIGINAL STORY (10:41am 5/2/23): A shooting today in Bossier City has left multiple injured, and one dead. One of those injured in the shooting was a Bossier City Police officer. We're told the shooting involved multiple suspects and the officer, with multiple gunshot victims.

Authorities tell us the shooting happened at a gas station on Industrial Drive, near Interstate-20. The suspect reportedly shot the store clerk during a robbery attempt, and opened fire on police.

Bossier City officials say that around 10:30am, the Bossier City Police Department were responding to a "shots fired" call at the Valero Gas Station. When they arrived, the officers took fire from the suspects.

During the gunfire, an officer was reportedly shot, but is expected to survive. The officer's wounds are reportedly to the shoulder and leg. Shortly after being transported to the hospital, he was listed in stable condition.

We're told by officials that the employee who was shot has died.

The shooting took place at the Valero gas station on Industrial Drive in Bossier City, just off Interstate-20. That area has had traffic rerouted, and authorities shut down the off-ramp from I-20 at Industrial Drive as well.

The suspect has been taken into custody.

At this time, its believed that the suspect was already on the run from authorities. With the suspect being tracked into Louisiana from Texas. With a nation-wide manhunt originating in Texas, there's a natural curiosity as to whether or not this was related to that case. However authorities are quick to tell us that this shooting in Bossier City is completely unrelated to that case and manhunt.

Louisiana State Police are on the scene assisting with the investigation.
