Grocery Prices Will Go Up Again Across Louisiana
Grocery prices continue climbing all across Louisiana and the nation. Kraft Heinze is now boosting prices this spring on most of its products including Jell-O, Kool-Aid, Velveeta cheese, Oscar Meyer hot dogs, Heinz Ketchup and many other popular items.
Proctor and Gamble also recently announced higher prices on many products including Tide, Pampers diapers and much more.
The companies are seeing a significant increase in the costs for freight and commodities they use to make their products.
Which Companies Are Raising Prices?
General Mills, Mondelez International, General Mills, Proctor and Gamble and Kraft Heinz are just a few of the companies announcing dramatic price hikes. As you roll through the grocery store over the next few months, you could be paying 20% more for many of your favorite items.
Kraft Heinz is expected to bump up prices on most of their products in March. The biggest increase will be for Velveeta which is going up 30%. Prices for Kool-Aid and Capri Sun are going up 20%.
Produce prices are likely to go up as well. The cost of transporting these goods across the country continues to climb. If you like a glass of wine, a cocktail or a beer every now and then, expect to see higher prices. That industry is being impacted by labor shortages and delays in getting imported goods into the U.S.
49% of Americans say higher grocery prices are causing a financial hardship. Higher fuel prices are also causing money problems for many folks.
