
Record Breaking Day for Give for Good in North Louisiana
The Shreveport Bossier community responds in an amazing way to the annual Give For Good campaign. The effort this year brought in more than $2.3M for north Louisiana nonprofit agencies.
Give For Good was created by the Community Foundation of North Louisiana and the day long event raised $2,384,855 for area nonprofits. This is the largest total raised since the event began in 2014. Give For Good is an annual online giving day that invites everyone to participate in philanthropy and have a hand in transforming our region.
Here's the Reaction to This Amazing Day of Giving
“This community has faced many challenges over the last few years. Area nonprofits have stepped up to meet those challenges head on and the community rewarded their hard work today,” says CFNLA CEO Kristi Gustavson. “North Louisiana has always been a very generous community. We are thrilled with the outpouring of community support that will enable nonprofits to provide vital services to those in need and enhance North Louisiana’s quality of life.”
Here Are Some Details About the Specific Giving
The $2.3 million was raised through more than 8,700 gifts from across the country for 214 area nonprofits. Since this program began, more than $16 million dollars has been raised for area non profits during the Give For Good campaign. The agencies included provide services from shelter for the homeless, to healthcare and education to the arts and much more.
The Community Foundation also includes money in the Lagniappe Fund which matches donations on a pro rata basis.
