
Shreveport Mardi Gras Assault Is Headed for Trial in May
A woman accused of attacking an elderly woman at a Shreveport Mardi Gras parade pleads not guilty.
Georgie Creamer faces charges in Shreveport City Court for the incident in February that led to a social media firestorm when the viral video was released. That video shows Creamer shouting at an elderly black woman who was getting in front of her at the Krewe of Centaur parade.

The woman was at the parade with her great grandchildren. Creamer cursed at the woman and told her to move along. She then allegedly attacked her by throwing a beer on her.
When Does Mardi Gras Suspect Go on Trial
Creamer is now scheduled to stand trial in May in this case.
An attorney for Georgie Creamer entered a plea of not guilty on her behalf in Shreveport City Court. Creamer is charged with disturbing the peace and simple battery.
Police investigators say the cup Creamer allegedly tossed not only hit the elderly woman, Deborah Church. but it also hit one of the children.
Creamer's trial date has been set for May 22.
The family of Deborah Church want the charges against Creamer upgraded to simple battery of a person with infirmities.
They also want a separate battery charge for Church’s four-year-old granddaughter.
