The Shreveport Police Department's Community Oriented Policing Bureau is sponsoring a "Back to School Extravaganza" at the police complex tomorrow. The event is a unique opportunity tailored to create positive interactions between officers and children heading back to school next week. Officers will conduct programs for the kids in areas like personal safety -- and provide a host of other topics intended to empower our children and help them kick off the new school year on a positive note. Food, fun and games will all be provided at no cost. The event is being held on the front lawn of the police complex on Texas Avenue, and will run from 10 a.m. til 1 p.m. tomorrow.
