Drought Sparks Wildfires In Ark-La-Tex

A lack of rain has the Ark-La-Tex reeling from a crippling drought. The area has received less than an inch of rain since July 4th weekend. These dry conditions have led to several wild fires in the area.

Grass and woods fires affected areas in Caddo, Bienville, Webster and Sabine Parishes. The fires spread quickly and took hours to extinguish. Luckily, no injuries have been reported and no homes were lost in the blazes.

The Red Cross came out to provide canteen service and assist Firefighters in their efforts.
