With new owners, a new chef, a new sign, and a refreshed look, a beloved downtown Shreveport tavern is getting set to reopen. The Noble Savage has a new website, and a new, revised menu featuring some pretty fancy sounding fare.

According to their website, the new menu features items like Pan-seared Mahi-mahi, something called Filet Oscar, described as a "hand cut filet, smoked truffle grits, cajun crème sauce, shrimp, and rainbow carrots..." oh my... there's also pasta dishes like Shrimp Alfredo and Chicken Stuffed Manicotti as well as Chicken Fried Ribeye and  Bone-in Pork Porterhouse.

You will also find a little more traditional 'pub fare'  like burgers, wings, and a muffuletta.  They also feature a Kids menu and deserts, listed as "Cheesecake, Chocolate, and Apple."  The website also has a "Live Music" page, but there is nothing listed as of this writing.

The Savage has gone through a few owners over the years, with most local fans remembering the tragedy that occured in 2014 with the murder of the owner Angela Godfrey by her boyfriend and business partner, who was convicted of 2nd degree murder.  The tavern opened several months later under new ownership, but the new owners found themselves too busy with other business interests that kept them out of town too much to be able to focus on the restaurant/bar business.

Although at this writing, no opening date has been officially set, Liz Swaine from Shreveport's Downtown Development Authority told KEEL News the new owners are just waiting for a few things like ABO paperwork from the state to be able to announce an official opening date.  Again.... we can't wait!
