According to Department of Transportation and Development Secretary Dr. Shawn Wilson, Louisiana needs about $700 million to shore up its deteriorating infrastructure. To pay for the repair of the state's roads and bridges, Dr. Wilson has backed the recommendation by Governor's Transportation Task Force to increase the gas tax from twenty to forty three cents per gallon, along with the implementation of toll roads and "public / private partnerships". Dr. Wilson talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the possibility of implementing these ideas and what his department will do with, most likely, a lesser amount.
