New Bossier Casino Gets Final Approval; Take 1st Look at Future
SHREVEPORT, LA – It’s a done deal. The proposed sale of the Diamond Jacks property in Bossier City from Foundation Gaming to LRGC is complete. It has now been approved by the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.
Foundation Gaming acquired the property back in December of 2022 and begin working on plans to build a land based casino at that site. But in March of 2023 Foundation entered an agreement to sell the property to LRGC a part of the Cordish Gaming Group. They plan to build a LIVE Brand Casino Complex.
All of the Investigations are now complete and this project is ready to move forward.
Cordish is spending just over $33 million dollars for the property. The sale is expected to close by the end of October.
The company is planning to invest more than $250 million dollars to build a state of the art gaming complex and hotel at the site in Bossier. This will include a land based casino, a hotel with 405 rooms, a 25,000 square foot ballroom, at least 3 food and beverage outlets and at least one retail outlet.
This complex will also feature an outdoor pool at the front of the facility.
Cordish now has until March 15, 2024 to submit plans to the Gaming Board. Company officials have told the board they hope to have the facility up and going by the end of the first quarter of 2025.
The existing boat is being dismantled as we speak and in the next 30 days will be completely dismantled. It is being sold for scrap.
