Commissioner Resigns Over State Police Spending Flap

Dr. Lloyd Grafton, a member of the Louisiana State Police Commission, resigned Monday, protesting the alleged actions of LSP boss Col. Bobby Edmonson. Edmonson has been accused by Sen. (then State Treasurer) John Kennedy of spending and travel abuses, charges he denies.

According to Tom Aswell at Louisiana Voice, the Colonel was to receive at a California conference, and on the taxpayers' dime:

"...he (Edmonson) invites 15 of his best friends, also LSP subordinates, with him to San Diego to watch him bask in the moment—at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) 123rd Annual Conference and Exposition."
