Colombian Authorities Capture Drug-Smuggling Submarine [VIDEO]
Acting on tips from informants, soldiers in Colombia have seized a 99-foot fully submersible submarine that was intended to be used for drug smuggling.
The fiberglass boat had enough room for eight tons of drugs and a crew of six, and enough power to make the eight-or- nine-day trip from Columbia to Mexico totally underwater.
It hasn’t been uncommon for Colombian authorities to catch narco-traffickers with semi-submersible submarines, but smugglers using fully submersible subs is more unusual. It is estimated the sub cost two million dollars to build.
