On October 17, 2024, members of the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crime Abatement Team (VCAT) conducted an operation targeting criminal activities in the 400 block of Columbia Avenue.

VCAT officers received information that multiple individuals from the area were purchasing methamphetamines from a subject residing in the 400 block of Rutherford Street. Acting on this information, officers executed a search warrant at the residence.

During the search, officers arrested James Vincent (DOB: 08/30/1966) after recovering a firearm and methamphetamine from the residence. Vincent, a convicted felon, was charged with the following:

· Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

· Illegal Carrying of a Weapon with CDS

· Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II (Methamphetamine)

Vincent was taken into custody without incident, and the investigation is ongoing. The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to keeping our community safe and combatting illegal drug activity.
