But she will join us on KEEL Thursday morning at 6:40am to talk about the show and the personal message she expects to get from Mayor Adrian Perkins.

Perkins will apologize to Cooke and her family for the treatment Sam Cooke received while in Shreveport in 1963.  He and his band members were denied rooms at the Holiday Inn on North Market because they were black.  A biographer also reports Cooke and his crew were horribly mistreated by police during the incident.

Carla Cooke will sing many of her father's hit songs and share some intimate stories about her father's life and music.
