Oil City Representative Danny McCormick introduces legislation that will make employers civilly liable if they force an employee to take a vaccine and that employee suffers health impacts.

“Which if they are forced to have a vaccine and there’s a negative effect from that vaccine the employer will have to cover them under their workers comp,” said McCormick.

McCormick’s bill also holds companies liable if they force you to be vaccinated to use their services, for example, to fly on a plane or buy groceries, and you get sick.

“If they force you to have that vaccine that opens these companies up to any negative effects from that vaccine may have on you, if they force you to have one to do business with them,” said McCormick.

McCormick said he authored the bill after constituents contacted him over concerns of forced vaccinations for COVID-19. He adds:

This is just another step in trying to prevent a forced vaccine, to make it the choice of the person whether they receive the COVID-19 vaccine or not.

The legislative session kicks off on Monday, April 12th at noon.
