Caddo Parish Teen to be Tried As Adult in Sex Crime Case

A Caddo Parish juvenile teen arrested last week will be tried as an adult on charges he sexually assaulted a tender-age female relative, Caddo Parish District Attorney James E. Stewart Sr. has decided.

Following a continued custody hearing held at Caddo Juvenile Court Monday, June 5, 2023, it was determined that jurisdiction over Miguel Foret, 17, regarding a charge of first-degree rape could be transferred to District Court under provisions of Section 305 of the Louisiana Children's Code.

Foret's alleged victim is under age 6. Police investigation continues into whether he has perpetrated similar criminal acts against other, younger family members.

Due to the nature of the alleged crimes and victim(s), no further information can be released.

The juvenile court hearing was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Janet Silvie.
