Caddo Coroner Names Greenwood Car Accident Victim

A Shreveport man killed early Thursday, December 28, 2023, in a motor vehicle collision in Greenwood has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office.

Gerald Wayne Carrothers, 71, of the 3000 block of Boone Street, was killed in the wreck that occurred just after 5 a.m. in the 8000 block of Greenwood Road. Mr. Carrothers' eastbound vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler entering Greenwood Road. He was deceased at the scene.

The decedent was positively identified through fingerprint comparison.

The crash remains under investigation by the Greenwood Police Department.

An autopsy was ordered.
