Parts of Caddo Parish are now under a burn ban.  Caddo Parish Fire Districts 7 & 8, which include Mooringsport, Oil City, Belcher, Vivian, Gilliam, Hosston, Ida and Rodessa Louisiana are now under a burn ban.  A burn ban restricts any outdoor burning.

As temperatures continue to reach the upper 90's, well into the triple digits, and with no meaningful rainfall in the forecast for several days, very dangerous conditions currently exist where fire can spread across dry vegetation and wooded areas very rapidly.

Several burn bans have also been issued in Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma.  25 Counties in Arkansas have recently been added to that states number of counties under a burn ban, mostly in the northern part of the state, but also including Mena, DeQueen and Helena.  Texas has issued burn bans for several counties as well, including Marion, Harrison and Panola counties.  The Oklahoma Forestry Service has issued burn bans for several counties as well, including Kiowa, Jackson, Greer, Caddo, and Jefferson counties.

Depending on where you live, some burn bans are for 90 days, or until the area receives a 'significant amount of rainfall' that would adquately hydrate the ground and vegetation as to not propose a high risk fire threat.
