Buc-ee’s is Hiring: How Much Could You Make in Louisiana?

Since we drive to Dallas quite frequently, we pass the Buc-ee's in Terrell each time as we veer onto Highway 80 off of I-20.  And every time we go by, I am in awe of how much that area has exploded in growth.

What used to be nothing but a field in the crossroads of two major highways, is now a vibrant, growing area comprised of shopping, dining, hotels, apartment complexes, and entertainment.  And it all started with one gas station.  Because let's face it... that's what Buc-ee's is at it's core. A gas station.

But the owners of the Texas-based Buc-ee's have taken the concept of a simple gas station travel-stop, and elevated it to way beyond beef jerky and clean bathrooms, both of which they have in abundance. To some, Buc-ee's IS the destination.

But what makes Buc-ee's different from the hundreds of other options on the road to fill your tank and your belly?  It starts with the people. And Buc-ee's pays their people well... very well.

How Much Does Buc-ee's Pay it's Employees?

Of course, the level of pay is determined by what you do and where you work within the Buc-ee's ecosystem.  The starting pay for a Cashier, Gift Department, Cleaning/Janitorial, Warehouse, and Grocery Stocker starts at $18 an hour. No experience is necessary. 

If you are hired for food service and or the car wash at Buc-ee's that pay rate is $21 per hour.

Buc-ee's is famous for their ultra-clean restrooms, and if you are willing to work hard at cleaning bathrooms, you can be on the Buc-ee's restroom crew at $20 an hour.

Of course, the more responsibility you're willing to take on, the more you can earn as Buc-ee's Team Leads.  Depending on the Team, you could earn from $20 to $23 per hour.  And a Department Manager can make a rate of $25 to $33 per hour. Meanwhile, an Assistant Food Service Manager could earn anywhere from $33 per hour to $42 per hour. 
 
And in line of of taking care of their employees by paying well, the employee benefits are above average as well, including three weeks of paid time off and healthcare benefits.  

I'm very interested to see how the area in Ruston is going to change over the coming years.  I'm sure Ruston officials are too.
