Brett Favre Made Surprise Visit to Shriner’s Hospital in Shreveport
The weird thing about celebrities is that you feel connected to them without ever really knowing them. I think we all like to think our idols are good people who do good things, but if recent news events have taught us anything, that's not always the case.
That's why I was excited to see that while he was in town for the Walk On's Independence Bowl, NFL Hall of Famer and legendary Quarterback Brett Favre take time out of his day to stop by and spend time with the kids at the Shriners Hospital in Shreveport.
He's no longer playing. He's not running for political office or anything. He doesn't need the press. It would have been easy for Brett to just go to the game, watch his alma mater Southern Miss play, and then go back home. Nobody would have thought twice about it. But, Brett went out of his way to swing by and spend time with kids, families and staff.
Its nice to hear that one of the guys you grew up watching and respecting turns out to be a good guy. Favre isn't just a Hall of Famer and all star in the NFL but in real life too.
