A Bossier Parish Community College instructor is one of 75 chosen, nationwide, to attend a summit at Google headquarters in California next week.

Carrie Salinas is a Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics instructor at BPCC. She's been picked to participate in what's called the Geo for Higher Ed Summit.

The three-day workshop is designed to bring together instructors and researchers in geographical information systems (GIS) and remote sensing technologies.  They'll be meeting with Google instructors and engineers who will give them resources for using these tools in research and teaching.

According to a BPCC news release, Salinas plans to use the information and resources learned at Google in her oil and gas technology classes.
