
Boys and Girls Club
From the ashes of what was once the old Irish McNeil gym on the State Fairgrounds has risen a new $4-million Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club.Local Salvation Army commander, Major Mark Smith, says the official opening of the new neighborhood center marks the start of a new chapter in the history of the local Boys and Girls Club. Major Smith says the new facility was made possible through the generosity of a lot of people and foundations and a whole lot of hard work. And he says it will serve area youngsters for many years to come.
