A new Bossier Parish Registrar of Voters has been chosen, and she just so happens to be the daughter of retiring registrar Janet Burks.

The Bossier Parish Police Jury voted unanimously at their Wednesday meeting to accept the recommendation of its Police and Procedure Committee and name Stephanie Agee as the new registrar.

Four candidates, selected from 15 applications, were interviewed for the position. Agee was chosen following that interview process.

Agee has worked in the Bossier Parish Clerk of Court's Office for about 12 years. She replaces her mother, who is retiring as registrar after a 45-year career in the office. Burks officially steps down May 31.
