Bossier City police arrested a Bossier Parish teenager over the weekend on a charge of attempted murder after he ran over another teen multiple times with his vehicle during an altercation.  19-year old Dakota Joel Barnhouse was arrested early Sunday morning for attempted second degree murder.

According to witnesses Barnhouse got into a verbal argument with 19-year old Jeremy David Parmer of Shreveport at a party in the 5700 block of Kristen Avenue just after midnight Saturday.  Witnesses tell police Barnhouse was sitting in his vehicle with the driver’s door open when the altercation began.  As the two engaged in an argument, Barnhouse put his car in reverse and the driver’s door caught Parmer resulting in him being dragged underneath the car.

Witnesses say Barnhouse then ran over Parmer and then backed over him causing him to be pinned under the vehicle.  Barnhouse then drove off running over Parmer a third time.

Parmer was taken by private vehicle to Willis Knight Medical Center Pierremont in Shreveport and was subsequently transferred to LSU Hospital where he was listed in critical condition as of this morning.

Police later located Barnhouse at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday driving in the 1400 block of Bellaire Boulevard and conducted a traffic stop.  Barnhouse was subsequently taken into custody without incident and booked into the Bossier City Jail on the attempted second degree murder charge.  His bond is set at $250,000.
