One of the Ark-La-Tex's most iconic restaurants experienced a scary situation this morning. A fire broke out in the kitchen, leading to a plume of black smoke that could be seen across most of Bossier City this morning.

Just after 10am, calls of a fire came from award winning 2Johns Steak & Seafood on Airline Drive in Bossier City. Bossier City officials say that fire crews were dispatched immediately to the scene. The crew included at least two ladder trucks.

2Johns owner John Montelepre tells KEEL News:

"There was a small fire in the vent hood in the kitchen. We just had it cleaned last week, but apparently there was still something in there. Everything is fine now. Will be closed for lunch today. We do not yet know about dinner service for tonight."

Since opening their doors in 2009, 2Johns father/son duo has turned a family business into a nationally recognized powerhouse in Bossier City. Nationally, 2Johns has cemented its reputation by earning a spot on OpenTable’s list of the "Top 100 Steakhouses in America" and repeatedly taking home their "Diner’s Choice" awards.

Their wine program is equally decorated, boasting the prestigious "Best of Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator for multiple consecutive years, a "Two Glass" honor held by only a select few in Louisiana.

Locally, the praise continues with 2Johns being named Yelp’s "Top-Rated Steakhouse in Louisiana" and consistently sweeping "Best Of" titles from the 318 Forum.
