Good news on the crime fighting front in Bossier City. The complete data for 2025 shows lower numbers in many crime stat categories.

The leadership team from the Bossier City Police Department says these numbers show progress is being made to keep the public safer in Bossier.

Overall Crime Trends Show Decline in Bossier City

The latest stats released by BCPD shows overall crime in Bossier City decreased in 2025 compared to the numbers from 2024. Police Chief Daniel Haugen calls this trend encouraging. He gives credit to a couple of things: proactive policing strategies and increased community involvement.

Haugen emphasizing that partnerships with residents, businesses, and local organizations continue to play a key role in crime prevention. While the numbers show improvement, Haugen stressed that the department’s work is far from finished.

“Our goal is to keep crime as low as possible and continue striving to make Bossier City one of the safest cities in the state,” Haugen said.

Violent Crime Drops, With Fewer Homicides and Assaults

When you check out the numbers, almost all of the violent crime categories show declines. There were 6 homicides in Bossier in 2024 and just 2 last year. The stats show a 25% decrease in armed robberies, dipping to 15 in 2025 from 20 in 2024.

What Crime Category Saw the Biggest Drop

Aggravated assaults are down dramatically, from 431 in 2024 to 327 in 2025. Chief Haugen and his leadership team say this is a direct result of targeted patrols, faster response times, and information from the public.

What Crime Category Shows an Increase

One stat did go up in Bossier. Rape cases are up slight from 39 in 2024 to 40 in 2025. That represents a 2% increase. BCPD officials say continued outreach and reporting awareness may contribute to changes in year-to-year reporting.
