A new school year is right around the corner, and that means it's time once again for the Bossier Chamber of Commerce to welcome the parish's new teachers.

According to a chamber news release, there are more than 22,000 students attending Bossier Schools, and the district is one of the fastest-growing in the state for enrollment and performance.

The New Teacher Luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 1, at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 2015 Old Minden Road in Bossier City.

The chamber is expecting 130 teachers as they enter the Bossier school system for the first time. The new educators will get start-up materials and prizes to help them begin the 2016-17 school year.
