Blue Bell Plans to Take Mardi Gras Ice Cream Nationwide this Year

Last year, the internet was flooded with celebrations of Blue Bell's Mardi Gras King Cake Ice Cream. There were even news stories, that almost appeared as taunts to other corners of the country over the cold treat. In fact, an article from NOLA.com started with the quote "Poor Texas. (And everywhere that isn't Louisiana.)"

Well, it's that time of year again, but this time, there's great news for everyone.

According to various reports, including from Dallas' CBS affiliate, the ice cream flavor is going nationwide!

That means you'll be able to get a little Mardi Gras in corners of the country like Arizona, Ohio, Colorado, Indiana, and even states like Michigan, Wyoming, and California (you'll have to make a little drive for those states, since Blue Bell is available just over the state lines there). Now this isn't good news for friends in Washington, Maine, New York, Wisconsin, and other outlying states where Blue Bell isn't available. But let's be honest, this is the flavor worth road-tripping for anyway.
