April Is Louisiana’s ‘Safe Digging Month’ [VIDEO]
Louisiana One Call's Jeff Morrison talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about Governor John Bel Edwards declaring April "Safe Digging Month".
Morrison tells KEEL listeners that "safe digging saves lives." Morrison says that the purpose of One Calls 811 toll free number is "to allow excavators, or anyone, to be simultaneously notify utility companies" of digging plans. The Damage Prevention Coordinator emphasizes the no job is too small that One Call should not be notified. "In Louisiana, any time you're disturbing the soil, according to the "dig law", you are required to call 811.
