WASHINGTON (AP) — Calling their opponents Satan worshippers and savages, anti-abortion lawmakers are urging allies to support one of their own to run for the White House.

The Susan B. Anthony List is in search of an anti-abortion crusader who has a shot at winning the Republican nomination in 2016. Several potential 2016 candidates on Wednesday were making their pitches to the group's activists and donors.

Sen. Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican who is a favorite of the tea party, says supporters of abortion rights chant "hail, Satan."

Sen. Mike Lee, a Utah Republican, says those who support abortion rights favor a "culture of death" and engage in "savagery."

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is to speak later to the group.
