Another Way You Can Help Hurricane Harvey Victims
The devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey is unprecedented in the annals of American history. We here in Louisiana know better than anyone what a tragedy this storm is.
Evacuation orders are continuing to be ordered in flood prone areas, and many evacuees will be coming to Northwest Louisiana. In order to continue to meet the needs of our community and our incoming guests, The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana (FBNL) needs the Shreveport/Bossier community’s help now more than ever.
FBNL has teamed up with Brookshire's and the Minden Chamber of Commerce to conduct a Disaster Food Drive. They are looking for non-perishable food along with household items such as cleaning supplies, paper towels, mops, brooms, and the like. If you'd like to donate, please take items to any Brookshire’s, Super 1, or Spring Market store in Shreveport, Bossier, Benton, Minden, Mansfield, or Zwolle. In addition the Chambers of Commerce in Minden, Louisiana, and in Overton, Kilgore, Longview, and Hallsville, Texas, will be drop-off locations. The collected items will be delivered to sister food banks in the hurricane’s path.
You can also make a financial contribution to help FBNL meet the needs of disaster victims as well as the increased need for food at their Partner Agencies. Make a donation at foodbanknla.org.
