Desoto Parish Schools Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley has told 710 KEEL that Logansport School students were dismissed at 11:15 this morning because of an air conditioning problem.

Desoto schools went back into session this past Monday (August 5), and with the early start there were some concerns about the students returning to school in the heat.

Dr. Brumley acknowledged those concerns in previous discussions by saying Desoto school buses are air conditioned and outdoor activity will be limited due to the heat.

Temperatures today are expected to climb up to, and in some parts over, 100 degrees, with the heat index upwards of 108-110 degrees.

Classes are scheduled to resume tomorrow.
