A local man is behind bars this morning, accused of robbing a south Shreveport fast food restaurant as it was closing. Just after 1:30 this morning, patrol officers were informed of an armed robbery at the Burger King in the 100 block of E. Bert Kouns. Employees told them that as the manager locked the door, a suspect accosted him from behind, beating him up with his fists. The robber was given an unknown amount of cash and he took off. The manager's injuries were minor. Moments later, Officer Lacey Durham spotted a man walking near the scene of the crime and, after further investigation, discovered he had the exact amount of money on him that was stolen from the restaurant -- along with a mask and gloves. Police took 22-year-old Christopher Walker into custody and charged him with one count of aggravated burglary. Investigators say they believe Walker had help gaining access to the business, and their inquiry is ongoing.
