Officers were responding to a domestic violence call at the apartment back in February. Bagley jumped from a second floor balcony and fled. Officers gave chase.

State Police took over the investigation. Here is part of the information LSP released:

After a short foot pursuit, an officer “located Mr. Bagley as he rounded a building corner and fired one shot from his service weapon, which struck Mr. Bagley in the chest,” state police said. Bagley later was pronounced dead at a hospital, they said.

On the body cam footage you can see what happened.

Tyler and his legal team are scheduled to be in Caddo District Court today to face arguments and hearings. Tyler is represented by Dhu Thompson while the assistant District Attorney handling the case is Chrstopher Bowman.

Tyler resigned from the police force back in March. At the time, Mayor Tom Arceneaux issued a brief statement.

"This decision was solely made by Mr. Tyler and his attorney. The City has followed all policies and procedures during this process."
