The Longview News-Journal is reporting that a 31 year old Longview woman posed as a 15 year old student at New Life Christian School. Police arrested Charity Anne Johnson, 31, after providing officers with false information.

Johnson, allegedly registered as a 15 year old student known as Charite Stevens. According to New Life Christian School Principal Stewart Newlin, Johnson enrolled in October 2013.

Newlin said today that the school is still trying to find out details regarding the true age of a woman posing as a 15-year-old, at the time of enrollment, known as Charite Stevens.

“She came in saying she had been home schooled,” Newlin said. “She filled out a form with her birthday. I didn’t ask for her birth certificate, and that is on my shoulders.”

According to Newlin, Johnson was eager to learn, “She was one of the more serious students,” he said. “Always taking notes. There was nothing about her that would make you wonder. Everyone who associated with her accepted that she was 16 years-old.” The situation has left school officials confused, Newlin added  “We are all asking the question of why would she want to come back to school".
