Officer Involved Shooting In Shreveport Subdivision, 1 Injured
KSLA reports one person was rushed to the hospital with possible life-threatening injuries after an afternoon shooting in Shreveport. The shooting happened just after 2pm today.
The shooting happened inside Shreveport's Twelve Oaks subdivision off East Flournoy Lucas Road. The exact location is reportedly the 600 block of Ashley River Road; that's where Shreveport Fire medics responded to a medical emergency call after 2pm. The Shreveport Police were initially dispatched around 1:40pm for a "suspicious person" call on Rochel Drive between Mazant Lane and Milbank Drive.
Eventually there were as many as 14 units on the scene.
KSLA reports that the shooting involved two police officers. No specific details on the shooting has been released, with the exception that neither of the police officers who fired their weapons were injured in the shooting.
When Shreveport Fire was dispatched, they rushed one person to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.
The Louisiana State Police will be taking over the investigation moving forward.
