Louisiana state lawmakers are looking into whether new legislation is necessary to allow parents to track their children with GPS technology.

The issue stems from policies in many schools that prevent students from bringing technology with them to school, like cell phones, iPods, etc.

Mandeville Representative Tim Burns says there are rules on the books against technology in the classroom.  He says to allow GPS tracking devices may require a change in the law.

But he also says that at this point in the legislative session, it may be too late to get something passed before lawmakers go home.  However, he says it is something they will work on.

Would you use a GPS tracking device on your children, or is it too invasive?  Let us know what you think below.  If you would track your children, how old is too old to keep tracking them?
