Woman Jailed For Cashing Counterfeit Checks
Caddo sheriff’s detectives arrested a Shreveport woman for cashing five counterfeit checks at a local liquor store.
Evelyn Beverly, 25, was booked into the Caddo Correctional for forgery following an investigation by Det. Yomeka Evans, of the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force.
Between October 28 and 31, Beverly cashed five checks worth a total of $3,921. She told detectives that after cashing the checks, she kept half the money and gave the other half to a woman who provided her with the checks.
