Louisiana Verizon Customers Could Get Some Cash

SHREVEPORT, LA – If you are a Verizon customer, you might be able to get a little cash from the company. Verizon will be handing out $100 million to settle a class-action lawsuit. This settlement impacts customers through early November of 2023.

Are You Eligible for the Verizon Cash?

If you had Verizon wireless or data services between January of 2016 and November of 2023, you could be able to get up to $100 from Verizon. You can expect to get a post card or an email notification from the company.

This class action lawsuit is related to administrative fees charged by the company that were not allowed. Most of the cash will be paid to current and former customers. If you have been charged an "administrative charge and/or an administrative and Telco recovery charge", this settlement impacts you.

Notices are going out to customers in the next week.

What Is This Verizon Settlement About?

As part of the settlement agreement, Verizon admits no wrongdoing. The class action suit accused Verizon of charging an administrative fee but not disclosing that fee to customers. The class-action lawsuit was filed in Middlesex County Superior Court in New Jersey.

What Does the Wireless Provider Say About this Settlement?

"Verizon has denied and continues to deny that it did anything wrong or that the lawsuit has any merit," the company says on a website devoted to the settlement. "Verizon states that it will continue to charge the Administrative fee and contends that it has the right to increase the Administrative Charge. As part of this settlement, Verizon will amend its Customer Agreement to include revised Administrative Charge disclosures."

How to File a Claim with Verizon

Customers could get as much as $100. It depends on how long you have been a customer. The minimum payout is $15. Click here to file your claim. You will need the Notice ID and confirmation code from your postcard or email in order to move through the claim process.

The deadline to file a claim online or by mail is April 15.
